Job Description

Interested candidates are invited to apply for the JSE Computer Science Learnership Opportunity. Exciting Learnership opportunities are available at the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. Successful incumbents will be on a fixed-term Learnership Programme and will be exposed to day-to-day activities within the Enterprise Information Governance: Data Governance Office. During this contract, the incumbents will be placed on an NQF aligned Learnership Programme along with gaining on-the-job experience. Preference will be given to Employment Equity candidates and South African Citizens.

Key Responsibilities for the JSE Computer Science Learnership Opportunity
Analysing data
Data mapping
Prepare flow charts and graphs for presentation
Data modelling
Compiling excel spreadsheets or using applications like VB
The development and enforcement of data standards, processes as defined by EIG Council
Updating of business process documentation (flow and transformation of data from source to target, etc.)

Experience Required for the JSE Computer Science Learnership Opportunity
Minimum Qualification Requirement: B Comm Degree in Informatics / Statistics / Computer Science or Maths.
Analytical Skills: Data analysts work with large amounts of data: facts, figures, and number crunching. See through the data and be able to analyse it to find conclusions.
Communication Skills: able to translate the data into an understandable document.
Be able to write and speak clearly, easily communicating/articulating complex ideas
Critical Thinking: to be able to look at numbers, trends, and data and come to new conclusions based on the findings.
Attention to Detail: make sure that their analysis leads to correct conclusions.
Math Skills: mathematical skills to estimate numerical data
Good communication skills
Team player
Sense of urgency
